The Perkins High School varsity cheer squad will head to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., for the Varsity Spirit Spectacular from Thursday, November 16, to Monday, November 20.
More than 800 members of cheer and dance teams from across the nation will participate in the cheerleading showcase. The PHS squad qualified to attend the event after scoring a “superior” at the Universal Cheerleaders Association summer camp in August.
The PHS squad will participate in an exclusive performance at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park before hundreds of fans. Additionally, the squad will have the opportunity to meet cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation and enjoy a magical holiday season at Walt Disney World® Resort parks.
The varsity Cheer team is Emily Adams, Haylie Bing, Mya Capizzi, Hallie Hartung, Kendall Ellis, Makenna Garza, Hailey Kubitz, Emmy Le, Caden McClellan, Caity Parnell, Emma Sturzinger, and Vivi Venerucci.
The cheerleaders are coached by Gigi Musser, Baranda Adams, and Olivia Schaefer.
“We are very excited about this opportunity for our team,” said Coach Adams. “The cheerleaders, coaches, and parents have worked very hard in fundraising efforts to make this possible along with the generosity of our boosters.
