'In This Together' – Aquatones Set To Perform 'High School Musical'

The Aquatones will perform “High School Musical” as this year’s show, and it’s a popular production among kids who watched the series of Disney movies from the 2000s.

“It’s a wholesome and fun show, and the soundtrack is so fun,” said Aquatones director Meghan Erney.

The synchronized swimming troupe will perform “High School Musical” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, Thursday, April 25, and Friday, April 26, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, in the Perkins High School Natatorium. Tickets are available via the Perkins Box Office and at the door.

Sophomores Ella West and Brianne Bucher play the lead roles of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, respectively, and senior Paige Lance and junior Emily Terry play the other lead roles of Sharpay Evans and Ryan Evans, respectively.

Fifth-year Aquatone Alivia West, a senior, plays piano player Kelsi Nielsen, and Aquatones veterans junior Eve Hartley, sophomore Anna Ferback, and junior Sam Green have key roles.

There are a few “surprise” performances in this year’s production, said Mrs. Erney. Among them, look for the young Aquatones, she said.

“Here’s a fun fact: It’s the first time we’ve had a show with kids from every (Perkins Local School) building,” Mrs. Erney said.

The show features more than 20 numbers that are choreographed by not only cast members and directors, but also Aquatones alumni Julia Stanfield, Lainey Nielsen, and sisters Annabelle, Lily, and Greta Gross.

Mrs. Erney and Rachel Rice direct the production, and Morgan Allendorf is the assistant director.
